What to do with dead crypto tokens
Old tokens can remain visible long after a project changes, migrates, loses liquidity, or disappears. Before trying to move them, identify whether the token is actually transferable and whether the network is still usable.
Dead does not always mean worthless
Some older tokens were migrated into newer contracts or replaced by a different asset.
Others still exist on-chain but have little or no market liquidity.
Check the contract and network
Confirm the token contract, network, and whether the project documented a migration or replacement process.
Do not interact with random migration links sent through social media or wallet spam.
If the token still transfers
A transferable token can sometimes be consolidated, moved to another wallet, swapped where liquidity exists, or intentionally sent away.
Network fees still matter even when the token itself has almost no value.
If it truly cannot be used
Sometimes the rational answer is simply to leave the token in the wallet. Blockchain balances do not need to be physically deleted for you to stop using them.
